The Executive Master of Public Health (EMPH) degree is designed to give professionals working in various public health fields an opportunity to develop skills of using the various public health tools. The program emphasizes active, student-directed learning, problem solving, and the acquisition of skills essential to the practice of public health. The program is organized around eight career-oriented concentrations and a core curriculum. Each concentration offers electives that allow students to explore in depth areas relevant to their personal career goals.
The EMPH program will consist of a series of courses culminating to a 52 credits degree in a span of 24 months.
Eligibility criteria of candidates to enroll into the EMPH will be work experience of at least two years after graduation or masters. Based on individual field of work experience, one or more of the core courses (maximum 9 credits) may be waived.

Students with a medical background will get a waiver on the ‘Human Health and Disease’ course. All other students without a medical background including students from a dental background will have to take the ‘Human Health and Disease’ course. The core courses are designed and taught in a manner to give students a basic foundation of understanding, interpreting and problem solving skills for public health issues.
All core courses are mandatory for students enrolled to the Executive Master of Public Health (EMPH) program. The Human Health and Disease course is compulsory only for students from a non-medical and dental background.

At the end of the first semester, students have to choose and declare any preferable three courses with in an area of concentration. The areas of concentration have been formulated so as to incorporate most in demand public health areas of expertise.
For a particular concentration/track course to be offered, a minimum enrollment of 5 students is required.
